Refund of Entry Fees

Entry fees are non-refundable in case of inability to participate. However, athletes who cannot attend the race may notify the organization by December 17, 2025, to choose one of the following options:

  • Transfer the registration to the Maratona di Pisa 2026 by paying a € 10 administration fee at the time of new registration. This transfer option can be used only once. Transferring your registration to the 2026 edition cannot be combined with other discounts/promotions.
  • Transfer the registration to another person by paying a € 10 administration fee to confirm the change via email. The person taking over the registration must complete a new entry form with all personal data, membership information, and a medical certificate. They will receive a new bib number and starting position. The transfer discount can only be used for the 2025 edition and, in any case, only once. Transferring your registration to another person cannot be combined with any other fee discounts.

In case of event cancellation due to “force majeure,” registrations may be transferred to one of the following three editions, pending confirmation and acceptance of the regulations for the selected year.

Registrations may be transferred to other people as above for a €10.00 supplement.
If the documentation is missing, an email will be sent indicating the documentation missing or in need of additions (payment receipts, valid FIDAL membership card
on the day of the race, medical certificate of fitness for competitive athletics valid on the day of the race, etc.).
Participants must present themselves at the Maratona Expo Village to collect their bib, along with their personal identification document and any additional documentation required.

Race Number and Goody Bag Pick-Up

Athletes can pick up their bib numbers and bags on Friday, December 19, from 12:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Saturday, December 18, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM at the Expo Marathon Village.
To pick up bib numbers, participants must present an ID, the confirmation letter (print or on smartphone/tablet), and any additional documents specified in the confirmation letter (membership card, Runcard, or updated medical certificate).
It is possible to collect a bib number and bag for one additional participant with a power of attorney, a copy of their ID, and the other person’s confirmation letter.

Services

All participants will receive a goody bag, refreshments, medical support, a finisher medal, a downloadable diploma, and their official time in the results list. Only athletes with a FIDAL membership card and foreign athletes with a membership card from Foreign Athletics Federations recognized by World Athletics will qualify for final monetary awards.

Start

All participants must be in the starting area on Largo Cocco Griffi from 8:00 AM. The race will start at 9:00 AM, though there may be slight delays due to television requirements.
Entrance to the starting corrals will be permitted between 8:00 and 8:45 AM. Late arrivals will be directed to the last corral. Participants must be ready and inside their corral by 8:45 AM.
Entering a different corral than indicated on the bib number is prohibited, and participants cannot exit once inside. However, they may start from a corral behind their assigned one. Changes to starting times may occur for safety or police requirements.

Race Bib

The race bib is personal and cannot be exchanged. It must be visible at all times and attached to the front of the running shirt; covering it with pictures or writing may result in disqualification.

Time Limits

The time limit to complete the half marathon (21.097 km) is 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Athletes maintaining a pace slower than 8:30 minutes per kilometer must comply with the provisions of the Italian Road Traffic Regulations.

Timing and Chip

Your official time will be recorded by EVODATA through the MyLaps microchip timing system, which captures your actual time. The chip is personal and cannot be shared.
The 'REAL TIME' begins when you cross the start line and ends when you cross the finish line. The system will also record intermediate times at checkpoints (10 km, 21.097 km, 30 km), with additional surprise checkpoints for accuracy.

The Gun Time rankings will be made official after being validated by the Technical Delegate Judge/Appeals Judge.

The bib and the chip must not be removed, as doing so risks exclusion from results. NO CHIP = NO TIME!

Bag Drop Off

A bag drop-off point will be located near the Leaning Tower (finish area), open from 7:00 AM. Bags will be organized by race number, and volunteers will assist with placement. The drop-off will close at 8:30 AM.

The bag drop-off service will be available from 7:00 a.m. in Via Duomo, in the designated areas organized by bib number groups. Staff will place each bag in the corresponding area. Athletes must attach to their bag the sticker with their bib number received at the Expo. The bag drop-off service will close at 8:30 a.m.

Showers

Please be aware that showers will unfortunately not be available at the event.

Award Ceremony and ranking

Two separate rankings will be published:

  • One for the competitive race, in accordance with FIDAL circulars, which determines the distribution of prize money as set out in these regulations.

  • One listing all finishers of the non-competitive race.

Awards will be given to the top 10 men overall and the top 10 women overall. The top 3 men and top 3 women will be invited to the podium.

There will be no awards or prize ceremonies for age categories.

Athletes entitled to prize money (overall and Italian nationals only) must complete the required administrative and tax forms. These forms will be provided by the organization in the days following the event and must be requested by email at segreteria@maratonadipisa.com.
