Futurist art inspires the graphics of the medal
Less than two weeks are left to the start of the 21st edition of Cetilar Maratona di Pisa and this year, as usual, the official Marathon medal draws its inspiration from the Masters’ works exhibited at the Palazzo Blu Museum in Pisa.
In particular, the reference point will be the artworks of futurist artists on display in the exhibition entitled “Futurism”. This extraordinary artistic movement will define the graphic design of the medals that all the marathon runners will wear around their neck at the finishing line.
In this way the athletes will come back home with a souvenir, precious not only for its symbolic significance but also for its intrinsic artistic value.
A choice that confirms the will of the organisation of the Marathon to build a bridge between sport and culture in order to promote and enhance the value of the territory.
For this 2019 the medal will present two different cuts: one bigger for the 42 Km finishers and a slightly smaller version for the runners who will complete the Half Marathon.
Added value of the symbol per excellence of the Marathon is the exclusive coining
of Fratelli Pazzaglia company, active in Pisa with its laboratory since 1960.
REGISTRATION – There is only one month to register online or at one of our 23 Maratona di Pisa Points. The first registration deadline will be Thursday 5 December at 9:00 pm, with a possible reopening in the days before the competition. The final deadline is set for Tuesday 10 December at 09:00 pm. For latecomers the last chance to register will be directly at the Marathon Expo on Friday 13 December or Saturday 14 December. Also on Friday and Saturday, at the Expo venue, and again on Sunday, at 8:00 am, in Largo Cocco Griffi (start line area), it will be possible to sign up for our Happy Christmas Family Run.
